CHEMICAL HANDLING SAFETY AWARENESS

This course is intended to educate students on the occupational, industrial, and environmental hazards associated with hazardous materials and chemicals. Chemical spills, fires, and explosions are included because they all include chemical compounds. In addition, the training will provide knowledge on the nature of hazardous materials and chemicals, as well as assist participants in reducing or eliminating potential exposure to hazardous materials and chemicals at work.

The benefits and risks of hazardous materials and chemicals must be balanced by society. It is the responsibility of management to guarantee that workplace practices control the threats, and it is the responsibility of employees to collaborate in implementing the approved procedures. Management also prevents uncontrolled environmental releases and ensures that all wastes are disposed of in a safe and environmentally responsible manner. The goals of this course are to improve awareness and assist participants in identifying, assessing, and controlling the hazards of chemicals.

Chemical Handling is a comprehensive, one day course designed to give delegates the knowledge, skills and confidence who deal with hazardous chemicals in the field of manufacturing, packing, shipping, logistics and warehousing etc.

INTENDED FOR:

Line managers, Supervisors and persons handling hazardous chemicals.

AIMS / OBJECTIVES:

Course is designed for staff members who are appointed as Manager, Supervisors and Workers involved in material handling, storing and using. Delegates will learn how they can manage the chemicals safely at their workplaces.

  • Read and follow MSDS and Labels
  • Identify hazardous substances
  • Respond safely to a spillage and emergency
  • Safely don and set up self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA, Escape Unit)
